We are thrilled to announce that we secured the Harry Angel x Catskill Roc colt (lot 416) at the Inglis 2022 Premier Yearling Sale

The colt was purchased from the Morning Rise Stud draft and selected by our astute bloodstock agent, Leonard (Lenny) Russo of Bluegrass Bloodstock. He will be trained by Wilde Racing and has already settled into the paddock there nicely, as you can see in the following video.

HARRY ANGEL is an exciting first season sire, whose first-crop yearlings have sold for up to $460,000. As a three-year-old, he was crowned World Champion Sprinter, and his Timeform rating of 132 is higher than those of all four of the Everest winners – REDZEL, YES YES YES, CLASIQUE LEGEND and NATURE STRIP!

Shares in the colt are priced as follows (including GST and expenses until the 31st of May, 2022):

  • 2.5% – $1,522.00
  • 5% – $3,044.00
  • 10% – $6,088.00

New name alert!

In other great news, our Artie Schiller x Lady Paulina filly is now officially named PAULARTES!

We reached out to the owner who submitted Paulartes (pronounced Pilates) and asked him how he came up with it. We were not disappointed!

“In considering the combination of Paul and Art from the dam and sire, Paulartes seemed like a logical name to reflect the bloodline. When pretending to be the race caller and whipping myself around the lounge room, saying the name quickly, it came out pronounced as Pilates! I found that quite serendipitous considering I’ve been doing Pilates for years, spending lots of money on training and not getting too much of an outcome. Haha! Let’s hope Shirley proves me wrong. Go you good thing!”

Our thanks to all her owners for such great suggestions! (And for their patience while we waited to reach the top of Racing Australia’s horse registration queue!)

Paulartes and Shuriken are now both back in work! Paulartes is with Brad Pearson of Brad W Pearson Horse Breaking and Shuriken is with Ben O’Farrell of O’Farrell Racing, both of whom are based in Geelong.

Paulartes has settled into routine really well and has tackled everything with a great attitude, as you’ll hear in the following video!

And Shuriken is in great order after a break and has plenty of condition to work with, as you can see in the following photo! We are excited to see what they achieve in this preparation!
