D’ARGENTO x QUEEN OF MANHATTAN COLT

Introducing Toward Reward’s latest racing prospect, a flashy grey colt by D’ARGENTO. This filly was secured at the 2025 Inglis HTBA Sale for exceptional value at just $24k + GST out of the Bowness Stud draft.

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the D’ARGENTO’s for some time now, securing our very own STATUARIO back at the 2023 Gold Sale, seeing him work through his paces as a young horse, and into a fantastic first racing preparation. Since then, we have inspected all D’ARGENTO’s available at public auction and were fortunate to secure a lovely filly earlier in the year that is going super, but we have been desperately wanting to get our hands on another quality colt. STATUARIO has taken his ownership group on the ride of a lifetime this preparation, taking his place in the $300K G2 Autumn Classic, $1M G1 Australian Guineas, $500K G2 Alister Clark, and taking out the $200K Listed Galilee Series Final in a dominant display of his staying prowess in the lead up to the $1M G1 South Australian Derby, where he is the firming favourite this weekend at Morphettville. This is the first colt tick all the same boxes for the team at TR, our man Lenny Russo of Bluegrass Bloodstock, and trainers Emma-Lee & David Browne of Sparta Racing, and is a striking image of STATUARIO, in both his presence and demeanour.

Being secured out of one of the last yearling sales of the year, we don’t want to fall behind the 8-ball with this colt, so will head straight to Julien Welsh at Booralite Park to commence his education process. Once his breaking in is completed the plan is to get him out to the Sparta Racing Pakenham stable for a short baby preparation to familiarise him to stable life before heading out for a well-earned break.

The first crop of D’ARGENTO’s are now 3YOs and featured in some of the biggest races in the Spring, and are continuing to stride into gear as we head into the Adelaide and Brisbane Winter carnivals. There were three D’ARGENTO’s in both the $2M G1 Spring Champion Stakes & $1M G1 VRC Oaks, which is always a fantastic sign of things to come. Silver Dagger took out the Thousand Guineas in Hobart, and most recently finished 2nd in the Listed Stutt Stakes. Silva ‘N’ Suave finished 2nd in the G3 Ken Russell Memorial Classic as a 2YO. Last but not least, our very own STATUARIO recently took out the $200K Listed Galilee Series Final, defied the track pattern to run a gallant 3rd in the $500K G2 Alister Clark, and finished a close 2nd from dead last on the turn in the $200K Listed TAB Trophy on Melbourne Cup Day.
