REBEL DANE x PIXILIM (BRZ) COLT

We are now officially on the board with our first purchase out of Magic Millions in the 2025 National Yearling Sale, an imposing brown colt by REBEL DANE. We had the ultimate goal of finding another top quality colt at entry-level pricing, and we had to wait until the very last yearling sale of the year up on the Gold Coast. This colt was secured for just $15K out of the Evergreen Stud Farm draft, and is a fantastic new addition to the TR team.

You need an expert eye when inspecting the late-November foals, and we have the best in the business in Lenny Russo of Bluegrass Bloodstock. You’re not only inspecting what you see in each individual horse at the sales complex on the day, but also the strengths and weaknesses in their development, so that you can find a true diamond in the rough when they catch up to their early season competitors, at just a fraction of the price. You often also have to be willing to accept a few flaws when selecting horses that you believe may be buyable at that price, but there is occasionally one that slips through the cracks, and that’s what we’re hoping to have found here. This well balanced colt is an incredibly stylish mover with a nice big frame, that will develop into a lovely racehorse in time. He is set to be trained by G1-winning trainers and good pals Emma-Lee & David Browne of Sparta Racing, where he will be given his best chance to succeed.

REBEL DANE certainly needs no introduction, having sired the 2022 G1 Golden Slipper winner, FIREBURN. Out of the twice G1 placed and multiple stakes winning mare over 1500M to 1800M, PIXILIM (BRZ), including wins in the G2 Copa Japao de Turfe, and Listed Silvio Alvares Penteado in Brazil. This colt looks the perfect 3YO Classics horse, and will be targeted towards the Guineas and Derby trips. Just because he was secured at the final yearling sale of the year, doesn’t mean that we are going to allow ourselves to fall behind on getting him to the races! He was sent straight to Leneva Park from the sales complex to commence his education process and all things going well will head over to the Sparta Racing Pakenham stable for a short baby preparation to familiarise thim to stable life shortly after.

This colt is bred on the same cross as 6 individual G1 winners, including YOUR SONG, DEIRDRE (JPN), NAMUR (JPN), PERSIAN KNIGHT (JPN), ARMA VELOCE (JPN), and BLOWOUT (GB).
